You're Welcome: Sugar & the Hi Lows

Every once in a while, there are things I just cannot get enough of, and I feel it is my duty to spread the word. There are times those things are websites. Other times they are books, and many times they are music artists. Right now, I cannot get enough of Sugar & the Hi Lows. Their sound is reminicent but so refreshing. If you have never heard them, you're welcome. Other artists on frequent rotation on music player: - Beautiful Eulogy - Alabama Shakes - Propaganda - Churchill

You're Welcome: Eliot Rausch

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one…more…post. These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I’ll just say, “You’re welcome!”

-------

A friend of mine shared a short film with me entitled O Night Divine! I followed the link and immediately found myself in the world of Eliot Rausch. This director and editor has several stunning projects he has posted for people to enjoy online. I have attached a spotlight shown on Late Night with Carson Daily. Within the spotlight there is reference to one of his short films entitled Last Minutes with Oden. This thing will rip your heart out in a redemptive way.

I could not stop watching Eliot's films on his website. Take some time to watch as much as you can. My recommendations, in order, are: Last Minutes with Oden, Eds Story, O Night Divine

You're Welcome: one word 365

I was catching up on my list of blogs, and my friend, Malisa shared this website and challenge today.

One Word 365

I think it is a great way to look into a new year. It is a great way to make movements toward truly seeing things grow in the right way within and around us.

The one word website describes the challenge this way:

"One word can change everything. Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap the long list of goals that you won’t remember three weeks from now anyway. Choose just one word. One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live or what you want to achieve by the end of 2012. One word that you can focus on every day, all year long. It will take hard work, and will require intentionality and commitment. But if you let it, your word will shape you and your year. It will guide your decisions and help you grow."

My word for this year will be: RESTORATION

What would your word be for this year?

You're Welcome: Tebowing

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one…more…post.

These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I’ll just say, “You’re welcome!”

Planking is so outdated. If you do not know what planking IS, you completely missed it already. There have been several phases come and gone (planking, owling, etc.). Now if are ready to "get down on one knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different"...or look at several pictures of other people doing this, then you need to get in on the newest craze sweeping the country at tebowing.com

You're welcome!

You're Welcome: Future Me

I have a reoccurring post idea here called: “You’re Welcome”.

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one…more…post.

These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I’ll just say, “You’re welcome!”

------

Have you ever wanted to write a letter to yourself? Sure you have. Have you ever wanted to write a letter to yourself you would read later...way later? Of course, right?

That is the simple premise of Future Me. It is such a great idea. It is simple to use as well. You write a letter to yourself in the future, set a date, and it will email to you on that date.

I set me letter to be sent to me a year from now. I wrote out some goals and hopes I have for myself by that point as a husband, a father, and a pastor.

You can also allow for it to be shared anonymously on the site. Take some time to read other letters people of have sent to themselves. Really interesting and inspirational...sometimes!

You're welcome!

You're Welcome: the burning house

I have a reoccurring post idea here called: “You’re Welcome”.

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one…more…post.

These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I’ll just say, “You’re welcome!”

--------

Once while working out of "my office", a friend introduced me to The Burning House. I love the concept and the pictures which come along with it.

If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question.

Someone or something stole my time that day while using TBH as a distraction.

Enjoy!

You're Welcome: Dear Photograph

This is a second installment of a reoccurring post idea here called: “You’re Welcome”.

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one…more…post.

These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I’ll just say, “You’re welcome!”

------

A couple weeks ago I came across Dear Photograph.

Submissions are made of people going back to memorable places in their lives and photographing a well-placed older photograph of that place. The results are endearing and inspirational.

Take a break and remember.

You're Welcome: Young Me, Now Me

I'm gonna start a reoccurring post idea here called: "You're Welcome".

Every once in a while you come across a website that just steals your attention right from under you. You may not even know why, but you find yourself just mindlessly clicking through because you just have to see one...more...post.

These will be things I find to share with you; things before you thank me for showing, I'll just say, "You're welcome!"

--------------

Several months ago, I came across Young Me, Now Me by a guy named Ze Frank.

The idea is that people contribute pictures of them when they were much younger along with a picture of them today re-enacting that same picture to the strongest detail they can.

Take a break from thinking for a second and go enjoy.

*I also heard that Young Me, Now Me was recently highlighted on Modern Family. Its Tivo'd. Don't ruin it for me.
